FAQ - PS3 Recycling Program
At Fix My Playstation we make getting your PS3 recycled easy. Just go through the 5-step process described below.
1. See the model number links below and find out how much we will pay for your PS3 and if we cover shipping for your model PS3.
2. Click on here to fill out a recycling request form.
3. We will send you a shipping label via email within 24 hours on business days (if your model qualifies). Then print the UPS return label.
4. Securely package your PS3, attach the return label and drop it by a UPS drop location. It is your responsibility to insure the system arrives to us safely. If your system arrives damaged from shipping you will not be paid for your system. We recommend a box that surrounds the PS3 with 2 inches of padding on all sides
5. Get paid for your system (if your model qualifies). Money for your old playstation 3 will normally arrive within 3-5 business days via the payment method you selected. We can only issue payments from Popmoney and PayPal. We do not cover PayPal fees if you select this method. Popmoney is free and can be deposited directly into a bank account.

There are many reasons you should responsibly recycle your electronics. Here are two of the most important reasons.
1. Many of the materials your PS3 is made out of is highly reusable. This is much more environmentally friendly than letting perfectly good materials sit in an overcrowded landfill.
2. Some of the materials inside your PS3 are harmful to the environment. Governmental regulation requires that certain parts of the playstation be handled by a level 4 recycler. Fix My Playstation works with a level 4 recycler to insure that it is disposed of responsibly.

FixMyPlaystation works with a level 4 recycler in the Saint Louis area. Printed circuit boards in the PS3 contain heavy metals, which are very terrible for the environment and a waste of resources if they are dumped into a landfill. We ensure this does not happen. . After this, they are turned over to MRC recycling (http://www.midwrc.net) so they are disposed of properly. Please do not throw your PS3 or the circuit boards in a landfill. If you are not going to keep it; let us dispose of it correctly.
The hard drive is not required to have your PS3 recycled. You will not receive your full rebate if you do not include hard drive.
Cords and controllers are not required. If you would like us to recycle them please include them with your system.

To find the model number of your playstation please look for the white sticker on the back of your system near the HDMI and the AV Port.

Terms of the Recycling Program.
1. By sending in your PS3 to be recycled you agree to the following.
2. Terms and conditions may change without notice.
3. By sending in your PS3 you guarantee that you are the rightful owner of the playstation 3 and assume all responsibility arising out of any sort of claim resulting from the recycling of the playstation 3.
4. It is your responsibility to insure your contact information and payment information in order to receive a rebate. Most rebates are issued in 3-5 business days but Fix My Playstation reserves the right to to take up to 30 days to issue the rebate. If you do not claim your rebate Fix My Playstation is not responsible for reissuing a rebate.
5. It is your responsibility to insure the system arrives to us without shipping damage. Fix My Playstation has final judgement of the condition of the PS3.
6. A working system is 100% functional. A non-working system is anything less that 100% functionality. Fix My Playstation will evaluate the system when it arrives. Fix My Playstation is the final judge of the condition of the PS3.
7. Once you send your system into Fix My Playstation the recycling process is not reversible. Your unit will be broken down into components and recycled. It is not possible to recover your system after it has been sent in for recycling.
8. PS3s that Fix My Playstation has worked on previously do not qualify for any rebates.
9. Fix My Playstation will provide a shipping label for most units. Please see above information to see which models qualify. Any excessive shipping charges incurred will be forwarded to the owner of the playstation. Shipping is to USA address only and does not include HI, AK, US Territories, or PR.
10. Fix My Playstation will return any game sent inside of the playstation for a $5.00 shipping charge.
